Finish Marshalling

Once through the finish line, keep rowing and move to the city bank to join the queue of boats waiting to land.

Crews heading to land at or past the old bridge must join this queue and not attempt to overtake until directed to do so by a marshal. Crews going to land at these points will be given priority when going through the new bridge but taking matters into your own hands just causes congestion and delay for everyone.

All boats should be prepared to transit through the new bridge before spinning as directed by a marshal. Some crews may be able to spin before the bridge but marshals shall determine when this can be done.

We will try to ensure that crews land in the same order that they finish but, to ensure optimum use of the pontoons, it is possible that a few crews may be asked to jump the queue if marshals determine that this will speed up the overall landing process. Please do not try to jump the queue unless asked to do so and be tolerant of any crews who are asked to land before you. We have a very tight time schedule for this event and we do not want to introduce any unnecessary delay to subsequent divisions.

Marshals will direct you to the next available pontoon or the steps for landing. This may not be your preferred location but to keep to time you must go to this location to land.

Note the two red buoys just after the IRC pontoons. To avoid congestion at the IRC steps and pontoons, all boats heading away from the finish must be close to the city (bow side) bank at this point.

When coming alongside, your first priority is to clear the pontoon or steps for other competitors. Club members and supporters are asked to help by removing blades, making footwear available etc. Wait until your boat is back at its storage location before putting on any extra layers.

Bow numbers should be placed in the tubs provided by each pontoon.
